We value each and every child as an individual, with their own specific set of interests and needs. We do our utmost to ensure that every one of these interests and needs are catered for through a wide range of stimulating and purposeful activities, enabling our children to grow, learn and develop in an environment centred on their happiness, security, capability and independence. We share, care and nurture each other, supporting our children's development to their fullest potential.
Our team comprises Mrs Ware, Miss Stephens, Mrs Hicks, Miss Baggs, and Miss Hancock who support the 28 children on roll.
Our children are the heart of our curriculum. Our pre-school children benefit from experiencing focussed learning delivered in a fun and engaging way. We prepare them for the next step in their learning journey - attending school.
Our two-year-olds access provision tailored to their interests and needs. In addition to this our children benefit from exploring the provision together - this enables them to build relationships, independence and language skills. We also have weekly outdoor learning, PE and cooking sessions all of which build our children's confidence and self-esteem.
Acorns has free flow access to a purpose-built outdoor learning environment which is fully utilised on a daily basis by all of our children in all weathers.
In Acorns see us exploring the topics Once Upon a Family, Once Upon a Celebration, Once Upon a Time in My World, Once Upon a Change and Once Upon a Sensory Exploration. Our core texts are linked to our topics and include: The Three Billy Goats Gruff, The Blue Balloon, The Train Ride, Jabari Tries, The Ugly Duckling and Handa's Surprise.
